Our Story
The Meaning of Uttara
“Uttara” means “north” in Sanskrit — a direction that carries deep significance across Asian cultures. In Chinese, the character 北 (běi) shares this meaning, and is subtly embedded in our logo’s custom “tt” glyph. This dual heritage reflects who we are: a Malaysian developer bridging cultures and traditions.
Founded with a vision to transform underutilised urban spaces in Kuala Lumpur, Uttara Land brings together expertise in urban planning, sustainable design, and community engagement. Our flagship development — the KL North Masterplan — embodies this philosophy: an 86-acre integrated township that reimagines what urban living can be.
The name Uttara is also a compass — always pointing forward, always building upward. It captures our commitment to progress that respects the past while shaping a better future for the communities we serve.
